7 months later Houston police and Carrabba's forget about a first degree grand theft case

It's interesting how the Houston police and the original Carrabba's restaurant swept a first degree grand theft under their rugs. Seven months after the theft case, neither the Houston police and Carrabba's followed up with me. Their failure to act in the grand theft case demonstrates that crime is acceptable.

On April 16, 2012, we passed through Houston. Unfortunately, we stayed on course to dine in the original Carrabba's Italian Grill. It seems very odd for car thieves to bust out a driver's window in broad daylight, especially with state-of-the-art surveillance equipment filming the entire robbery (what the security guard claimed).

The Carrabba's security team are given a 2-hour break in the afternoon. In this window of opportunity, the car thieves busted out the window and took everything we owned. No possessions were placed out in the open. We selected the wrong city to visit. It took less than an hour to lose everything.

Houston police never followed up on a lead that could have exposed the criminal network. Instead, the Houston police ignore the crime against outsiders. Houston PD seem to condone criminal actions.

Original Carrabba's told the general manager they would take care of the matter. However, Carrabba's corporate never mentioned anything regarding the surveillance footage. The general manager noted that nobody is responsible for this event. He apologized that we got robbed in their parking garage.

If Carrabba's never converted their traditional parking lot to valet, we would still own our possessions, portfolios, Passport, and many other valuables. Of course, Carrabba's is best at making excuses to defer blame. This grand theft occurred while their security team were on a 2-hour break. I didn't hear anything about the surveillance footage.

What is the truth behind this theft? Who is really involved? Where is the surveillance tape? Why have the Houston police ignored a case where $10,000 worth of possessions are missing, important documents are lost, and thousands of dollars worth of intellectual property are gone. This crime on their property is a much larger case that has to be connected to previous crime cases.

It is obvious Houston police and the Carrabba's in Houston allow a crime to get swept under the rug. The general manager was vocal in the beginning, stating that we would work with the Houston police to retrieve your possessions. However, nearly 7 weeks after the crime he indicated that Houston police are too busy to investigate theft crime cases.

If you plan to dine at the original Carrabba's on Kirby Street in Houston, Texas, take precaution to avoid getting robbed. Outsiders unfamiliar with Houston, Texas should avoid the city. Their police department refuse to engage into a first degree grand theft. I have no respect for this police department. They never called a company to retrieve the name of a possible thief involved in the theft case.

Did you lose $10,000 in personal possessions, valuable documents, and sensitive work? Don't expect the Houston police to help you. After waiting 7 months, the Houston police have shown their real value. Tourists need to take note of this crime to avoid this disaster city. Stay safe.
